Investigation of Oscillation and Resonance in the Renewable Integrated DC-Microgrid

This paper assessed the small-signal stability performance of a multi-converter-based direct current microgrid (DCMG). The oscillation and potential interactions between critical modes are evaluated. First, complete analytical model DCMG is developed with converter associated controllers. Three methodologies, impedance scanning, eigenvalue analysis, time-domain simulation, along fast Fourier transform (FFT) have been used to comprehensively investigate oscillations interactions. simulation results show inherent weak modes, wide range in studied DCMG, which may destabilize system under disturbances. Based on sensitivity controller gains DC-link capacitance identified as most parameters substantially influence leading oscillations, interactions, resonance. Finally, various control synthesis methods compared. examination would help researchers, planning, design engineers stably operate multi converter-based DC microgrid.
